Hall of Fame DNA: The Legacy of Norman “Turkey” Stearnes

n 2022, Rose Gold Energy had the privilege of collaborating with author, podcast host and educator, Vanessa Ivy Rose, to design the cover for her new book: Hall of Fame DNA: The Legacy of Norman “Turkey” Stearnes.

Capturing the essence of Vanessa's grandfather, we intentionally selected a black-and-white photo that represented the era he lived in, while adding a splash of red to his cap (with a star) to symbolize the Detroit team he excelled with and his influence upon the present. Highlighting his face on the cover was essential, as he played a significant role in MLB history. This visual tribute not only honors his legacy but also draws readers into the rich narrative that Vanessa has crafted.

Our expertise in book cover design ensures that every element is carefully curated to resonate with the book's themes and audience. The back cover features another poignant image of him in a suit, exuding his calm, sophisticated and stoic demeanor - adding depth to the story of Stearnes’ contribution to MLB history and inviting readers to connect on a personal level.

This isn't just a book about baseball; it's a journey into family history, a heartfelt letter written by Vanessa to the grandfather she never met, to discuss legacy, sports, history and transformation.
